Windows is a virus. Why anyone would use it is insane.
So most people have an operating system on their computer that is completely closed. There is no possible way to know what back doors are built into the system. there is no possible way to look at the code base and figure out what is actually happening. additionally the company that owns Windows and push updates to your system at any time since 98% of America's computers run on Windows. that means most viruses are written for Windows. Microsoft ( or whomever controls Microsoft) has access to everything on your computer at all times.
So why do you care about passwords, security etc?
Why do people use Windows. because its easy and they don't have to know anything to use it really. they don't have to know how an operating system works and how to manage one. And they don't want to learn cause they have no time to do so.
the real problem with computer security is making sure your private information does not fall into the hands of really bad guys.
